08/01/2010

Nicola Tappenden, the WAG of footballer Simon Walton, agreed to take part in celebrity Big Brother in order to clear a £35,000 credit card debt which she racked up after a series of spending sprees.

The Channel 4 show are paying Ms Tappenden a reported £50,000 for appearing in the show but many people with severe debt problems are not likely to be able to get a lump sum of this sort and should seek debt advice according to Nick Pearson from Debt Solutions experts, Baines and Ernst.

“Anyone with debts should seek professional debt advice as soon as they realise they have a problem. In Ms Tappendens case an Individual Voluntary arrangement make have been a good option” said Pearson.
